Mick is CEO and founder (London1986) of MdH Sports Sponsorship Consultants . MdH Consultants has offices in Zug (Switzerland), Amsterdam (Holland) and a representative office in London (UK).

Mick and his team advice corporate clients around the world with sponsorship strategies, plans and activation programmes. Since 1979 Mick has been involved in virtually every kind of sport or sports event in the world representing the interests of global companies.

Cars and motorsport have always been a passion and ever since Mick first visited a race at the legendary Zandvoort racing circuit in the 60’s, he was hooked on the world of car competition.

Through his work Mick has and is able to work a extensively in motorsport. Amongst the many projects he has managed in motorsport he has been involved in Formula 1, Le Mans 24 hours, WRC, ALMS and Paris-Dakar.

MdH is also promoter and organiser of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC Championship and the Renault Clio Cup Benelux.
MdH has or worked in motorsport with some of the best-known car manufacturers in the world: Audi AG, Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, Chrysler, Nissan, Renault Sport, Jaguar, Mitsubishi.

Mick is founding partner in the first global sponsorship market place

In the mid seventies Mick raced a Formula Ford 1600 in the UK.

The first Classic rally was the Winter Trial in 2008 and thereafter the gruelling six week long Himalaya Trial.
Since that first rally IN 2008 Mick has driven over 60.000 km in endurance rallies.

After studying Building Engineering in Utrecht (NL) I worked in the real estate business since 1978 (project development, investment, financing, valuations). In 1985 a real estate broker exam was added. My current job is senior risk manager with Propertize, specialized in real estate financing and a former SNS Bank affiliate. Propertize is now state owned.

Cars have always been my passion, classic cars in general and driving rallies in particular. As little boy in the late 50’s I made future plans with my father and brother to make a trip from Holland to India with a Land Rover. That did not happen, but in 2008, a year before my father died, Mick and I completed the Himalaya Trial Rally from Maastricht (NL) to Timphu (Bhutan) via India. Although Mick and I agreed, after finishing the 13.000 km’s, to do this long distance rally’s never again, we joined the long distance Carrera Copacabana Rally in South America in 2010 and the Peking to Paris in 2013.

We did those rally’s in a 1970 Mercedes 280 SE 3.5, but for myself I drive an original 1973 MGB GT V8 since 1979. This MG was rebuilt and prepared for rally driving in 2014 in order to join The 2015 Trans America (by ERA) from Halifax to San Francisco. After several long distance rally’s with Mick as driver, this was the first long distance rally I was the driver and Sonja the navigator. A new experience and we managed well, without severe problems, to cross the Golden Gate Bridge. And important, we are still married and looking forward to new rally experiences.

Joining for a second time the Peking to Paris was initially not my plan, but when Mick asked me to be his navigator again, I needed only a few seconds to confirm. This time will be different in a much lighter and newly prepared 1966 Mercedes Pagoda with and open top. Not much room for spares and luggage, but with our experience we know what to leave at home and to travel as light as possible (which is always still to heavy).
